You Are Chosen

Sometimes I have to remind myself, “hey, God loves me and has chosen me for a purpose, keep going”. How often do we get off track, mainly because of the sin in our lives? God’s plan for us was never to live our lives separated from Him, actually it is the opposite. God has always wanted to be involved in our lives. He is the one who created us and chose us, before everything else. Our lives matters to God. Wow that is so cool! But I still have junk in my life, and I don’t feel close to God. Thats a good place to be, recognizing that we are not perfect, and through Jesus, am I able to approach the Father.

We look at the text below and it looks scary, that holiness is something far off in the future that you might attain if you are good enough. “How could I be blameless before God? That seems impossible!”. Personally, when these thoughts surround me, I have to come back to my identity which can only be found in Christ Jesus, because through him, I am restored back to God.

I cannot live with God if I do not recognize what He as done to restore the relationship. Jesus. Without Jesus we are nothing. I am nothing. But through Jesus, I get to have a relationship with God the Father. Think about it this way, God has already chosen us, are we going to take the opportunity to choose Him.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, and forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace which He lavished on us.” – Ephesians 1:3-8
